Camiones Western Star

Imagen

BIG In Idaho!

Imagen
From wide open roads to larger sized trucks, everything in the American Truck Simulator world does appear to be a little bigger when compared with its European counterpart. However, one thing that does stay consistently large no matter where you are, is the size of our Special Transport loads! In the upcoming state of Idaho for American Truck Simulator, owners of the Special Transport DLC will have 3 new routes to drive with the assistance of local law enforcement and escort vehicles. These routes are: Boise to Grangeville Idaho Falls to the Challis (near Salmon City) Twin Falls to Nampa  Each journey will come with its own challenges. So make sure to adhere to the GPS advisor and speed limit which have been set-out for you before your departure, as there is no room for mistakes! If you are not an owner of the Special Transport DLC, be sure to pick it up whilst the Steam Summer Sale is still ongoing. You can find a wide range of our products from both our ETS2 & ATS catalog at

Idaho: Caution! Contents Are Hot

Ever wondered what it is like to walk around the moon? dream no further! Today, we are taking a closer look at one of Idaho's National Parks that is famous for its volcanic history and moon-like landscape. So how did this part of Idaho become so alien like? Between 2,000 and 15,000 years ago, the area now known as the 'Craters of the Moon National Monument' was formed during eight major eruptive periods, in which lava erupted from the Great Rift, a series of deep cracks that start near the current visitor center and stretches 52 miles. Since its last eruption, the lava has cooled to form an unusual terrain with volcanic rocks, lava flows and rich dark soil. This desolate, yet sublime landscape is also known for its connection with space. The Craters of the Moon National Monument allows visitors to explore a moon-like surface without ever leaving Earth. In fact it's so close to the real deal that in 1969, NASA sent some of it's best-known astronauts to prepare and

It will still take at least several weeks before the full 1.38 release; please keep in mind that this is the first raw open beta, and very much still a work-in-progress build. If you want to take it for a spin, you can help contribute by reporting any bugs you may encounter over at the appropriate section of our official forums. Your feedback and reports are extremely valuable for our team and we thank you in advance for taking the time to help us out. So, what can you expect to find in the 1.38 Open Beta for ETS2? Let's take a closer look! First off, the city of Lille has received a reskin, which includes new road networks, updates to existing junctions, more detailed scenery, and the inclusion of newer vegetation, terrain textures, and much more! Iberia: Olives

Imagen
Next time you are cooking up a meal and you add a dash of olive oil to your pan, take a quick glance at the back of the bottle, as there is a good chance that it was produced in Iberia! Spain is renowned for producing some of the best olives in the world, which are then used for both for making olive oil and for eating as delicious table olives. In fact, Spain produces about half the world's total olive oil, of which about 46% is exported, making them the world's leading olive oil producer and exporter. But how did olives become so prevalent and popular? The first olive trees were brought to Spain over 3,000 years ago by the traveling Phoenicians, the same people who supplied the country with its first grapes! Since then, the Olive industry has boomed with more than 350 million olives being grown each year on 250 different variants of olive trees.  So it will come as no surprise that truckers in Iberia play an important role in helping export products of olive-oil and equipm

Operation Genoa Bridge: Conclusione

Imagen
The #OperationGenoaBridge event is a success and we couldn't be more proud of our community! This task was by no means small, yet drivers from around the world united in Euro Truck Simulator 2 to help complete a new state of the art bridge in Italy. With beacons ablaze and goal in mind, you set out on June 4th to deliver materials, fuel, and construction vehicles back and forth from each of the west and east depots. Just 24 hours after the event started, you had already reached 200,000 deliveries, and 72 hours after that, our community had smashed through the halfway mark of 500,000! However, putting together this event was by no means an easy task. From creating cut scenes, special companies for the event to finding a road network solution that allowed everyone to take part; this was one of the more technically challenging events our team has created. We were very happy to learn that you really enjoyed the extra effort and detail that went into this event, especially the cut-sce

ETS2 1.38: Lille Reskin

Imagen
We are always excited to show our community what changes and updates we are working on for the next version of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Today we want to focus on one of the bigger changes drivers in Europe can expect to see in the upcoming 1.38 update. Introducing the French city of Lille, an important logistics link for truckers traveling between Belgium and the Netherlands, but not as you may remember it in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Lille has received a major reskin, giving it a fresh and up to date look for 1.38. So what exactly has been changed? Let's take a closer look. As you can see from these comparison shots, many of the older vegetation models such as trees and wildflowers have been replaced with newer ones, which gives the city a completely new look in terms of natural beauty. Another major change made to Lille is to its roads and junctions; many of the road junctions have been re-worked to be based on more true to life layouts. Road signs an

Not much time has passed since the last update of American Truck Simulator, and here we are again, excited to offer the community a glimpse of the upcoming version 1.38 improvements, fixes, and new functionality. Sounds Rebalance Package

With the Operation Genoa Bridge event still ongoing and the bridge nearing completion, you may have noticed that Euro Truck Simulator 2 received a small update on Steam earlier today. Don't worry, we did not release the next update behind your back. It was actually a focused, small but important mini-update that deserves explaining. This 'rebalance package', as we like to call it, contains numerous sound improvements and adjustments. Our SFX team keeps working hard on sound improvements, the sound revolution in the update 1.37, and switch to the FMOD library was a critical junction but not the final destination for them. We received a ton of feedback from our community, and most of these changes come as a response to this input. It is quite possible that you can see further mini-updates in the future, outside of the big "point release" update cycle, as we continue to keep addressing your reports. Today's update carries a few SFX changes such as: * Polished

ATS 1.38: Las Vegas Revamp

Imagen
Some of our more eagle-eyed fans may have spotted, in a recent blog post showcasing our team's home work stations, a small teaser displayed on one of the desktops. Did you spot it? Whenever we manage to find spare capacity, we like to revisit a part of the existing world to improve upon our old work. Often it's a part of the training of a new map design team member. Sometimes, it's a concerted effort by our seniors to raise the quality of a particular location that we get a lot of heat about from the community. In an upcoming 1.38 update, Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world will be receiving a revamp to some of its road networks and surrounding scenery. So what changes can you expect to see? Let's take a closer look! One of the first things drivers might come across upon arriving is a new Interstate connection, which connects the I-15 to the I-11, known as the 515. This important route allows drivers to ultimately avoid driving through the city itself,

Idaho: Boise

Imagen
If you happen to be driving between Salt Lake City and Portland, you can be sure to see beautiful landscapes, magnificent forests, numerous small cities and even smaller towns along the way. However, there is one major bustling metropolis which is an essential stop for any traveler passing through, the city of Boise! Located in the West of Idaho, relatively close to the state border of Oregon on the I-84, is the capital city of Idaho. Home to many small businesses and several high-rises, it is the most populous metropolitan area in Idaho; containing the state's largest cities which include Boise and Nampa. But you won't have to admire this city from afar, as Boise will be one of the cities that truckers will be able to drive through in American Truck Simulator. You may even spot some ambulances, fire trucks and police cars with liveries unique to the city patrolling the downtown area as you pass through. Did you know that Boise also is also known as the City of Trees? The ma

Operation Genoa Bridge Progress

Imagen
Once again we're really amazed at the great efforts put in by our #BestCommunityEver for the ongoing World of Trucks #OperationGenoaBridge event! When we launched the event on Thursday, we thought that asking for a million jobs was very ambitious and that it would take some three weeks for the event to be concluded. Just a few hours back, we posted that half of the community goal has been reached. Euro Truck Simulator 2 players from all over the world took less than four days to deliver more than 500,000 jobs to help build the new Genoa bridge! We are really proud to see that this event has been welcomed and accepted by our fanbase so well. It was really awesome to see so many of you taking part in it, sharing your stunning screenshots under the #OperationGenoaBridge hashtag across different social media platforms. We probably couldn't find all even though we tried, but by our counting, there are now more than 1500 tweets, 1686 minutes of video content on Facebook, and more t

World of Trucks Event: Operation Genoa Bridge

Imagen
For the last twelve months, the Italian city of Genoa has been focused on constructing a new state-of-the-art bridge. Local civil, structural, design, electrical and mechanical engineers, construction workers, logisticians, and city planners have all been working around the clock to build a bridge across the Polcevera river valley that will reconnect the city with France, the port, and surrounding areas. Their work is almost done, but there is plenty still to do. We think that it would be fantastic to help out in our own way. The heroic people of Genoa are trying to mend more than a critical city artery, and we would like to salute their effort and dedication. We would like to give our incredible game community a chance to get this beautiful new Italian bridge built into the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2! We're asking the community to come together and help by delivering materials, fuel, and vehicles to the construction site by way of its two depots, one at either end of the br

Trucks World Cup 2020 - Wrap Up

Imagen
What a competition the #TWC2020 was! There were many unexpected twists and changes that happened during the voting. The closer we got to the final round, the more tension we could feel from the participants; but the contest is over now and we have a winner! We send our biggest congratulations to Burakref, the ultimate winner of the Trucks World Cup 2020 Renault Trucks screenshot competition! It was not an easy road from the moment he was selected as one of the 32 participants. During one of the semi-final matches, it seemed like that he would not proceed to the final round, when in his semifinal match he lost against Ilya 29 RUS. But when we contacted his competitor, he himself said that he actually thinks that Burakref's truck is better and that he should have won instead and left the final round for him! By this decision, Burakref was back on the road and on the way to the final round! What a twist, right?! The final round was really tough and extremely close. We actually had t

Operation Genoa Bridge Event Announcement

Imagen
Last week we posted a teaser image of a construction site hard at work in an unknown location within Euro Truck Simulator 2. After thousands of comments of speculation from our community, we are excited to announce what this image represents. We are calling on you, our community, to prepare your trucks for a very special World of Trucks event to help complete the new Genoa Bridge, located in the northwest of Italy. The construction of this bridge has become a symbol of hope for Italy; with the help of thousands of industry professionals having worked around the clock for the last seven months, even during the current coronavirus outbreak, to finish this important connection. With this project set to be completed in the near future, we plan to reflect that reality within Euro Truck Simulator 2, but this won't happen without the help of our community. We hope that you can all come together and assist in delivering the materials, equipment, and manpower needed to complete this very

Idaho: Sandpoint to Lewiston Gameplay

Imagen
It's time we take a closer look at our next upcoming state for American Truck Simulator, Idaho. We are starting off slow here, as we do not want to spoil the enjoyment of discovering the beauty of the state by showing you too much, too early. Take a seat in the position of the driver and join us as we haul lumber from a harvest site near Sandpoint to a paper-mill factory in Lewiston. Let us know what you spot along the way! We are excited to give you a look at what Idaho will have to offer come this year with this footage. Please note that this map expansion is actively being worked on and the contents of this raw gameplay footage may not represent the final product. http://dlvr.it/RXP4vh

Idaho: Check Your Log

Imagen
From housing to flooring, furniture and the paper in your book, wood products are more prevalent in your daily life than you may realize. The logging industry plays a large role for the economy in the United States. In the North of Idaho (also known as the panhandle), the forest and timber industry is one of its leading economy contributors thanks to the region's rich and thick forests. For many players of American Truck Simulator, logging industries have become a favorite destination as many of them are located off-road and present a unique challenge for drivers. Drivers can look forward to more challenging climbs between rocks as well as some tight turns which may prove difficult for longer or heavier trailers. We will also be revisiting your favorite timber harvest sites, introducing a few new assets and 3 new timber harvesting locations as part of our newest Idaho DLC! These industries have been given a lot of love by our ATS community, and in turn we hope this will bring a

Calling On The Community

Imagen
Recently a traffic camera picked up this interesting scene. It appears that a construction site is hard at work! Rumor has it they might need a lot of drivers to assist in this project.  Let us know if you have any ideas on what might be happening! http://dlvr.it/RWyg8r

Iberia: Car Industry

Imagen
In 2015, Spain produced 2.7 million cars which makes it the 8th largest automobile producer in the world and the 2nd largest car manufacturer in Europe. As our team continues to work on Iberia for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we couldn't miss the opportunity to represent this important industry. Thanks to the ports across Iberia with connections to Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Atlantic, shipping across the world makes Spain and Portugal an ideal location for automobile manufacturers. Some of these operations are so large that many ports have their own dedicated car shipping terminals which are solely dedicated to the transporting of automobiles overseas. However, car ports are not the only new prefabs you will find around Iberia. Drivers will play a vital role in delivering parts and cars to and from the various car factories to the shipping terminals. With millions of cars rolling off the production line each, you will have no shortage of logistic jobs in this indu

Our Trip To Colorado

Imagen
Back in 2019, four members of our American Truck Simulator map team (Nicolaj Toft Nielsen, Tomas Opekar, Tomas Dubsky and Patrik Sadlon) took to the skies and traveled across the pond to the USA on a very important research trip. While we couldn't tell you at the time (as it would ruin the surprise), our team made sure to keep a detailed account of their trip, and here are just some of the highlights of what they got up to. Traveling over 2000 miles in just 7 days, they managed to visit everything they had planned on their list. From capital cities to small towns and everything else in between, our team had an important task to complete; to photograph and document various locations around Colorado to assist in the creation of our upcoming map expansion. "Our trip across Colorado was a really unique experience for me, not just because I was in US for the first time, but mainly because of how diverse Colorado is." Tomas O., one of our ATS map designers explains "We w

Idaho: The Old Familiar

Imagen
Truck stops have served highway drivers for many years, providing fuel, food, and a place to rest for many weary travelers. Found along the highways of America, these stops have evolved into more than just a place to fill up the tank. From the small roadside fuel pump islands to large plazas with multiple amenities, major chains have developed, offering services across the country. Each truck stop often has its own unique features to help drivers feel relaxed, such as a certain color or design that allows those who frequently experience a familiar feeling of being somewhere they know. Just like their real-life counterparts, you will find many of these virtual truck stops on the highways and interstates of our upcoming DLC, Idaho. Each comes with their own unique look and feel and of course a place where truckers can fuel up and take a rest during their journeys. While you are fueling up, you may notice there is more space than before as each of the truck stops has been revisited to a

Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.37 Release

Imagen
After much testing, feedback, fixing, and fine-tuning, we are excited to announce the arrival of update 1.37 for Euro Truck Simulator 2!  We'd like to thank every single one of you for all your help with your bug reports, opinions, and general feedback during the Open Beta. We hope you can now begin to fully enjoy the new features included within this update. The main feature included with this update is the implementation of our new sound engine FMOD; which radically redefines the way we mix vehicle and environment sounds. This update includes revisited sounds of trucks' engines, new sounds for most of the AIs (including trains), reverb sound effects in tunnels, new train crossings sounds, the inclusion of a true Doppler effect for passing vehicles and more. This also brings an array of new sound options for users accessed from the main menu, which allows you to tweak many more individual sounds to your liking. While there is still a lot of tweaking to do and more sounds to

Trucks World Cup 2020 - Start

Imagen
It's time to officially start the Truck World Cup 2020 in collaboration with Renault Trucks! After receiving more than 3100 entries to the competition inbox, select members from the SCS Software and Renault Trucks teams took on the daunting task of picking 32 entries to proceed into the next round. This was by no means an easy task, as we sorted through thousands of different variations of Renault Trucks in accessorized with different custom paint jobs, modifications, and much more. We were overwhelmed by the staggering amount customizations made possible by talented modders from around the world. So, who are the 32 participants, and what happens next? You can check the competition board, on which all these lucky players are already sorted into groups. Can you see your name/nickname there? Congratulations if you do! Want to see what screenshots were selected? Check out the video posted on our Instagram profile, Renault Trucks Instagram profile, or the dedicated Facebook page! Ev

I would like to celebrate an anniversary with you today. Back in 2010, I started this blog as a way to keep the community updated and to quote the very first post - "to post screenshots of games under development, share behind the scenes information, and point out interesting places on the net related to SCS Software's games." Frankly, I was not fully aware of what kind of commitment I had created for me and eventually for a small team here at SCS. Initially started as a small one-man show done on the side in the evenings, today each blog post occupies several people to iterate on screenshots or videos, draft, review, and cross-check the text across our teams to make sure we are not forgetting anything, and to format it for publication across several online platforms. It's a labor of love and we enjoy the interaction with our games' fanbase very much. This little blog has been growing over the years. We are regularly reaching over a million page views per month,
